Terms and Conditions

A payment holiday is a temporary break from your Barclayloan payments, to help you get through financial difficulties caused by the coronavirus situation.

You need to remember that:

  • A Barclayloan payment holiday pauses your monthly loan payment for three months and doesn’t affect your credit score. You don’t need to repay anything at all in that time and your normal monthly payments start again afterwards.
  • You must be having, or think you might have, payment difficulties related to the coronavirus situation. We won’t ask you to provide any evidence.
  •  You must be up to date with your loan payments to be eligible for a payment holiday. We’re still here to help if you have financial worries- please contact us so we can find the most appropriate way to support you.
  • If we approve your application, we’ll aim to start the holiday before your next monthly loan payment. If this is due within 10 days, we might not be able to start it until the following month, so you’d still need to make your next loan payment.
  • We’ll still charge interest on your three paused loan payments during the payment holiday, so you’ll end up paying more over the long term. Because we’re not increasing your monthly payments to repay it when the holiday ends, there’ll be an outstanding balance at the end of the loan that you’ll have to pay. You can contact us to pay this off early at any time.
  • If you pay by Direct Debit with any bank or building society, including us, we’ll pause your payments during the holiday and they’ll start again automatically when it ends.
  • If you pay by standing order or any other method with another bank or building society, you’ll need to contact them to pause it during the holiday and start it again when it ends. The payment reference will be your Barclayloan sort code then account number, together it should make up 14 numbers. If your standing order is with us, we’ll pause and restart your payments.
  • If we approve your application for a payment holiday, we’ll send you a ‘Notice of Variation’ which confirms the terms of your loan have changes to give you a payment holiday. We’ll either post this to you or email a PDF to the address you gave in this form.
